My Bio

After many years of providing consulting services worldwide, my new brand is now in place. I hope you like reading a brief overview of where I have come from and what drives my passion. My life and work is about innovating and giving back. I like to be healthy and hang around with positive and successful people. I look forward to hearing from about what you may need to live your best life, achieve success and feel great about what you do.

Being passionate about my family, life and work, authenticity and kindness is important to me. I love working and giving back. My whole life and career has been about linking with other professionals and business owners who are entrepreneurial, highly positive and like to achieve results. It has been about making a small difference in the lives of others so they can achieve what they deserve. Having worked with people who experience homelessness and disadvantage we all need to make a difference.

As the CEO of four companies, it was time to start TraceyHarris.Global. With a career spanning 30 years, I have been providing a range of global consulting services .

So you know a little about me, I was born in the gorgeous apple isle – Tasmania, that small island at the bottom of Australia. I have come from a family of successful business owners that were driven to succeed because of their mindset and work ethic. My family started Alpha Electrics in 1967 and as the largest supplier and rewinder of electric motors and generators in Tasmania and this company after 50 years continues to be a leading business in Tasmania. I am so proud of our family and my parents for their achievements.

My talented father Barry Phillips and his brother, David Phillips were dynamic business owners of Alpha Electrics and Alpha Irrigation, they were ahead of their time. They were well respected and known for being innovative and helping others. My father was a member and President of the local Rotary Club for many years and he was always helping young people, professionals and businesses. Following in dad’s footsteps, my brother was the founder and previous owner of Irrigation Tasmania of which is one of Tasmania’s most successful businesses as well as winning many awards including Telstra business of the Year in 2007. My sister was also a successful business owner having her own hair salons for many years.

From a young page, my parents taught me to have a vision and go for it. As a young woman I worked in my parents business and as many of us do, we started from the bottom and worked our way up the business. I was required to help with cleaning, and at that time travel around the state and collect money from our customers and whilst my uncle was always concerned for my safety travelling on my own for days at a time, in those days you knew your customers well and he believed I was up to the job. A success mindset was instilled in me early in life both by my parents and from having a great education.

Some people think it could happen, some want it to happen, some wish it could happen and some make it happen. (Michael Jordan)

After losing my father to cancer when he was only 42, he taken too early. In the days after he died, my brother and I were back at work to ensure that our customers knew we were there. I remember a few days after dad died, I took a call from one of our suppliers advising them of the sad news, but reassuring themthat dad had clear instructions, keep things going. My father was truly amazing. Many times during his illness he took me aside to develop a clear plan of what was to take place after he died and he had a list of everything in the business and what options that mum could follow depending on what she wanted to do. Still to this day when people ask me who my father is, and I tell them I am Barry Phillip’s daughter, it brings a smile to their face as they remember this remarkable human being and business owner.

This confirmed that I wanted to take all that life had to offer and help others. Throughout my career, I worked in different roles and after having a couple of not so kind managers, I knew it was time to take the step of starting my own business and do things differently. I now have four companies and they are as diverse as the team are. We offer people so many useful consulting services and we have made a difference in the lives of tens of thousands of people globally. Two new companies TraceyHarris.Global and MyBio.life make a real difference in the world.

Final Piece

My career spans 30 years having held roles across the corporate, government and non government sectors. Moving from Tasmania, I took up a senior ministerial role in Sydney and a few years later moved to Queensland, Australia and this is where I still live. I love travelling and meeting people from all walks of life. I have three amazing adult children who inspire me every day to make a difference in this world. Their ability to move through the challenges that come with life, their kindness to others and how they love life is my being as well. I am also truly blessed to work with a team of talented and exceptional professionals. They are the future and part of making this world a better place every day.
